Looking for a quick way to take attendance and build classroom community? Incorporating Question of the Day into your classroom can achieve both these!
I start the year with traceable names to give the students an added opportunity to practice writing their name. I laminate them so they can be used day after day with a dry erase marker. Attaching magnets on the back make it easy to use a white board for the set up. Later in the year, students get to decorate a piece of sentence strip with their handwritten (by them) name. If you don’t have whiteboard space, a pocket chart on the wall is another great way to display the question of the day.
Scotch Brand washi tape is used to make the boxes on the board. It leaves no marks on the board and comes off easily making it easy to change how many boxes there are throughout the year.
